About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Support Practitioner to join their Community & Social Care team in Benoni . This role involves providing direct support and interventions to families facing various challenges, aiming to strengthen family functioning and promote child welfare. You will work collaboratively with families to identify needs, develop coping strategies, and connect them with necessary resources.
This is a crucial role for fostering healthier family dynamics and improving community well-being in Gauteng .
- Conduct home visits and assessments to understand family dynamics and needs.
- Provide counseling and support to families to address issues such as parenting challenges, domestic conflict, and substance abuse.
- Develop and implement individualized family support plans.
- Assist families in accessing community resources, including healthcare, housing, education, and legal aid.
- Facilitate communication and problem-solving skills within families.
- Liaise with schools, healthcare providers, and other social service agencies to ensure integrated support for families.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child and Family Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in family support or counseling.
- Knowledge of child development, family systems, and common social challenges.
- Excellent assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with families.
- Familiarity with local services and resources in the Benoni area.
