About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Social Worker specializing in Family Support to join their team in Vereeniging . This crucial role involves providing assessment, counseling, and intervention services to families facing various challenges, including relationship difficulties, child welfare concerns, and socio-economic pressures. You will work collaboratively with families to strengthen their support systems, improve communication, and access community resources.

Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting family well‑being and resilience within the Gauteng community, fostering healthier family dynamics and ensuring child safety where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of family situations, identifying strengths, needs, and risk factors.
  • Provide individual, couples, and family counseling services to address interpersonal issues and improve functioning.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to support families in achieving their goals and overcoming challenges.
  • Connect families with appropriate community resources, services, and support networks.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights within legal and social service systems.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
  • Proven experience in family therapy, child protection, or community social work.
  • Strong understanding of family systems theory, child development, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent counseling, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and navigate complex social issues in Vereeniging.
