Social Worker - Child Welfare

About the Role

Our client, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to child protection and family support in Klerksdorp , is seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker . This vital role involves providing direct services to children and families facing challenging circumstances, ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to necessary resources. You will conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, provide counseling, and collaborate with community agencies to advocate for the best interests of children.

This is a hands‑on position for a professional who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children within the North West province.

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of children and families in need.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans to ensure child safety and family stability.
• Provide direct counseling and support services to children and their families.
• Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and other community agencies to coordinate care and resources.
• Prepare detailed case notes, reports, and court documents as required by law and agency policy.
• Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the legal and social service systems.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings to ensure coordinated service delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Proven experience working with children and families in a child welfare setting.
• Strong knowledge of child protection laws and social welfare systems in South Africa .
• Excellent interviewing, assessment, and intervention skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage complex caseloads in the Klerksdorp area.
