Software Engineer; Backend

Our client, a prominent financial services technology provider in Vereeniging , is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions. You will be instrumental in building core systems that support critical business operations, working with a talented team of engineers to deliver high-performance applications. • Design, develop, and implement efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Build and maintain APIs, services, and databases that power our client's applications.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define software requirements and features.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior engineers.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Node.js).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or No
  
  SQL databases.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
