Full Stack Developer; MERN Stack

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer proficient in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) to join their thriving development team. This role is based in Benoni, Gauteng, ZA and requires on-site presence. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining both client-side and server-side applications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and a passion for building robust, scalable, and efficient web solutions.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.

• Design, develop, and implement full-stack web applications using the MERN stack.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code for both frontend and backend systems.
• Develop and manage APIs, ensuring seamless integration between the frontend and backend.
• Create and optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define project requirements and deliver solutions.
• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of applications.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in full-stack development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in full-stack development with a strong focus on the MERN stack.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, React, and MongoDB.
• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of database design principles and performance optimization.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
