- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in business administration or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a transportation or logistics setting.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, or ability to obtain.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical examination.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills.

Job DescriptionThe following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Provide administrative assistance to the Transportation Director and department staff.
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, and handle inquiries from staff, parents, and the public.
- Maintain the department's filing system, including student transportation records, driver certifications, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating student transportation routes, field trips, and extracurricular activity transportation.
- Prepare and distribute transportation-related documents, including schedules, reports, and communications to staff and parents.
- Track and order office supplies and transportation-related materials as needed.
- Assist with daily routing and dispatching of buses and transportation staff.
- Update and maintain route information and schedules in transportation software systems.
- Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules, ensuring timely inspections and repairs.
- Support the recruitment, training, and scheduling of bus drivers and transportation personnel.
- Monitor and maintain records of driver certifications, medical exams, and continuing education requirements to ensure compliance with district and state regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for parents, school staff, and drivers regarding transportation inquiries and issues.
- Assist in handling parent or staff concerns and complaints, working with the Transportation Director to resolve conflicts.
- Communicate delays, changes, or cancellations in transportation services to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
- Assist with processing transportation department payroll, tracking driver hours, and recording overtime as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation expenses, including fuel usage, vehicle maintenance costs, and bus repair records.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports related to transportation performance, ridership, fuel consumption, and vehicle utilization.
- Support the preparation of annual transportation budgets and financial reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Office setting within the transportation facility.
- Travel between district schools and transportation sites may be required.
210 day calendar, 6 hours per day
