Yard Supervisor; Fleet

We are seeking a skilled Yard Supervisor to join our clients team in Gauteng. This role will oversee and coordinate all vehicle movements within a busy logistics hub. This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, enforcing strict safety protocols, and maintaining accurate digital records to support high volume throughput.

• Minimise truck turnaround time and ensure adherence to loading/offloading schedules
• Direct and control vehicle movements in and out of the yard, including staging and parking zones
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and yard organisation
• Ensure vehicles are prepared and trailers inspected according to SOP before loading
• Liaise with drivers, operations teams, and management to resolve issues quickly
• Manage weighbridge procedures, gate systems, and accurate documentation of vehicle movements
• Enforce safety rules and conduct daily inspections, ensuring compliance with SOPs
• Lead and coach the yard team, encouraging continuous improvement and adherence to processes

• Grade 12 (Matric); further studies in Transport/Logistics advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a warehousing/logistics environment
• Proven team management and Health & Safety programme experience
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Google Workspace)
• Valid driver’s licence
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced, outdoor environment
