Logistics Supervisor
Spartan, Kempton Park
R25 000 - R30 000 CTC per month
Minimum requirements:
- Matric
- Tertiary Qualification in Logistics or Logistics qualification
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the transportation and or distribution environment that includes vehicle maintenance
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Act.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Knowledge of legal requirements for transporting dangerous goods.
- Planning, performance management, and time management skills.
- Ensure vehicles are available when required.
- Manage and maintain daily logistics planning.
- Ensure all required dangerous goods notices and signage are available and correctly displayed on trucks.
- Coordinate with production and distribution managers to prioritise transportation needs.
- Communicate with sales staff if delivery commitments cannot be met.
- Conduct spot checks to ensure vehicle cleanliness and correct PPE compliance.
- Ensure drivers complete and submit daily vehicle checklists.
- Report vehicle breakdowns to the Logistics Manager immediately and coordinate with the workshop for repairs.
- Train drivers on the driver manual requirements and review/update the manual when necessary.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Logistics Manager.
