Driver (Site). The purpose of this role is to transport headquarters and site-based resources, including visitors and employees, to designated areas within the mine and to and from other locations.

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Rosebank, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

As Driver (Site) your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental practices and requirements.
• Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safet Actions.

• Transport employees and consultants to and from the airport.
• Transport team members to and from work sites for inspections.
• Inspect fleet vehicles regularly.
• Escalate two months in advance to the next level of authority when the vehicle licence is due to expire.
• Arrange servicing and maintenance of fleet vehicles.
• Manage vehicle license renewals.
• Transport nurses, medical personnel, and trainers to contractor laydown and work areas as needed.
• Fulfil general delivery tasks and meet the needs of the Transport & Facilities team as a driver.

This role is in Commercial (CML) department on a Band P5 (B-Upper) level reporting to the Section Manager Transport & Facilities.

• Grade 12 /N3 Technical
• SA Driver’s Licence EC (Code 14) with PDP

• 5 years of operational experience as a driver on the mine.
• Understanding South African road safety laws and regulations.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with local and regional routes and traffic patterns.
• Awareness of mine protocols for transportation and deliveries.
