Code 10 Driver​/Labourer

Location: Germiston

Position Overview Our client, based in Germiston, is urgently looking for a reliable and hardworking Code 10 Driver / Site Labourer to join their team.
This is NOT a driving-only position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a company bakkie and transporting stock, products, equipment and/or materials to various sites. Once at site, the employee will be expected to work alongside the site team and perform physical labour, including loading, offloading and general site work.
Candidates must therefore be physically fit and genuinely prepared to perform hard manual labour.
Site assignments can vary considerably and may range from 1 day up to approximately 3 weeks at a time, depending on the project. Travel to sites throughout South Africa will be required.

Employment Type: Hourly Paid
Rate: R50 – R60 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime: Paid when required

Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive a company bakkie to and from various sites.
• Transport stock, products, materials, tools and equipment safely.
• Load and offload stock and materials.
• Assist the site team once deliveries have been completed.
• Perform physical/manual labour on site.
• Assist with carrying, moving and positioning materials and equipment.
• Assist skilled workers and site teams with general duties as required.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and in good working condition.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks before travelling.
• Ensure stock, tools and materials are transported safely.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Work overtime when required.
• Travel and stay away from home when required for projects.
• Perform any other reasonable duties required by the site supervisor or management.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver's licence.
• PDP is not required.
• Previous driving experience essential.
• Previous experience working on construction, installation, engineering, manufacturing or similar sites would be advantageous.
• Experience with loading and offloading materials would be advantageous.
• Must be physically fit and capable of performing hard manual labour.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors and in different site conditions.
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout South Africa.
• Must be prepared to stay away from home for periods ranging from a few days up to approximately 3 weeks, depending on the project.
• Must be willing to work overtime when required.
• Must be reliable, punctual and responsible.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Candidates based in Germiston or surrounding East Rand areas would be advantageous.
• Must understand that driving is only one component of the position.
