We are looking for an experienced Operations Controller to be based in the Johannesburg

office. The candidate must have a proven track record within the Clearing & Forwarding industry. The candidate must be able to manage client shipments from order to invoicing.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Customs clearing

Negotiation Skills

• Execution of the complete import and export cycle both sea and air
• Quoting and costing
  • Compilation of logistics estimates in a reasonable time frame as stipulated by management.
  • Administration and control of shipping documents (SAD
    500, Customs EDI, Notifications etc)
  • Cost control (Landed cost control, cost valuation check, freight authorisations etc)
  • Ensure all files are completed and audited for accuracy before handover (payment)
• Communication
  • Liaising with freight agents
  • Liaising with transporters, airlines, shipping lines & other third parties
  • Organising the dispatch, delivery and collection of all orders
  • Ensure billing documentation is completed correctly as approved by the client
  • Keeping clients well informed on the progress of their shipments
• Resource planning and allocation
• Ensure profitable utilization of equipment and staff
• Co-ordinating with warehouse for planned execution
• Co-ordinating with warehouse to ensure operational control
• General

• Matric / Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification will be viewed favourably
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a full function Freight Controller position
• Valid South African Drivers licence

• The package will be determined by the experience and ability of the individual applying for the position.
