About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Transport Planner to join their team in Benoni . This role is integral to optimizing the company's transportation network, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling, and resource allocation. You will be responsible for planning daily and weekly transport operations, minimizing costs while maximizing delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction. This hybrid role involves both strategic planning and operational oversight, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and contributing to the seamless movement of goods across various regions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize daily and weekly transport schedules and routes for the fleet.
- Utilize transportation software and planning tools to maximize vehicle utilization and minimize mileage.
- Coordinate with drivers and dispatch teams to ensure adherence to schedules and efficient execution of routes.
- Analyze transport performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Liaise with warehouse and sales teams to understand delivery requirements and potential disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and safety standards.
- 2-4 years of experience in transport planning, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using route planning software and transportation management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office-based planning with operational oversight.
- A degree or qualification in logistics, supply chain, or a related discipline is an advantage.
