About the Role
Our client seeks a professional Commercial Vehicle Operator to join their distribution team in Vereeniging . This role is central to ensuring the efficient movement of goods throughout the Gauteng province and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating large commercial vehicles, adhering to strict schedules, and maintaining a high standard of safety and vehicle care. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to providing reliable service.
This hybrid role may involve some remote administrative tasks related to route planning and reporting, alongside the core driving duties, offering a balanced work experience for the right candidate in the Vereeniging region.
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and responsibly for transportation of goods.
- Plan and execute daily routes efficiently to meet delivery targets in and around Vereeniging .
- Ensure all cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded properly, respecting transit conditions.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, report vehicle defects, and ensure timely maintenance scheduling.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation.
- Handle customer interactions professionally during delivery and pick-up processes.
- Valid Code 10 or C1 Driver's License with an exceptional driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience with commercial vehicles.
- Thorough knowledge of Vereeniging , Gauteng, and major transport routes.
- Ability to perform physical labor associated with loading and unloading.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation and basic digital reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
