Local Route Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable Local Route Driver to manage daily deliveries within the Vereeniging area. This role is fundamental to our client's customer service operations, ensuring that goods are delivered promptly and efficiently. You will be responsible for operating a light commercial vehicle, maintaining its condition, and interacting positively with customers. The ideal candidate is punctual, possesses excellent navigational skills for local routes, and is committed to safe driving practices.

• Perform daily pick-ups and deliveries of goods to customers within the designated local routes.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, obtaining necessary signatures.
• Conduct daily inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle's cargo area.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols during operation.
• Provide friendly and professional service to all clients encountered during routes.

• Valid driver's license (Code 8 or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a route driver or in a similar delivery capacity.
• Good knowledge of the Vereeniging area and surrounding localities.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Customer-focused attitude and good communication skills.
• Physical capability to lift and move packages of varying weights.
