Long-Haul Truck Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Haul Truck Driver to join their national distribution network, operating out of Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across long distances, requiring adherence to strict schedules and safety regulations. You will be the face of the company on the road, ensuring goods arrive at their destination efficiently.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent driving skills, is comfortable with extended periods away from home, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and vehicle care.

• Operate tractor-trailers for long-distance transportation of goods across various provinces.
• Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo, verifying shipment manifests.
• Adhere strictly to Hours of Service regulations and maintain accurate electronic logs.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to the fleet maintenance department.

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with an unblemished driving record and valid PDP.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a long-haul truck driver .
• Proven ability to manage driving time effectively and meet delivery deadlines.
• Knowledge of national highway systems, transportation laws , and defensive driving techniques.
• Physical ability to perform required inspections and occasional loading/unloading duties.
