About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and dependable Long-Distance Freight Driver to join their national transportation network, operating out of Klerksdorp . This role is crucial for the timely and safe delivery of goods across extensive routes, requiring endurance, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety regulations. You will be responsible for managing your journey, vehicle maintenance checks, and ensuring cargo arrives at its destination in optimal condition.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with cross-country driving, a clean record, and the ability to manage extended periods away from home. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading logistics provider, contributing to the efficient movement of commerce throughout South Africa, with a base in the North West province.
- Operate heavy-duty trucks for long-distance freight transportation.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods to various destinations across the country.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Adhere strictly to all national driving regulations, speed limits, and rest period requirements.
- Manage cargo loading and unloading, ensuring proper securing and protection.
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
- Valid Code 14 driver's license with an up-to-date Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience as a long-distance truck driver.
- Excellent driving record with no major accidents or violations.
- Ability to work independently for extended periods and manage time effectively on the road.
- Strong knowledge of national road networks and logistics best practices.
