Our client is seeking a highly qualified and dependable Specialized Transport Driver with expertise in handling hazardous materials for operations based in Nelspruit . This critical role demands strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods. You will be responsible for ensuring the secure and compliant delivery of specialized cargo, requiring a unique skill set and a meticulous approach to safety and logistics.
The ideal candidate possesses the necessary certifications and experience to manage the complexities of transporting hazardous substances, ensuring the safety of the public, the environment, and the cargo itself, while serving the industrial needs of the Mpumalanga region.
- Transport hazardous materials safely and securely in compliance with all national and international regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, paying close attention to safety equipment and load security.
- Follow strict protocols for loading and unloading hazardous substances.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including manifests, logbooks, and emergency response information.
- Respond appropriately to any spills, accidents, or emergencies according to established procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and relevant authorities regarding transport status and any incidents.
- Valid professional driver's license (e.g., Code 14) with an excellent driving record.
- Proven experience driving and transporting hazardous materials (Hazmat endorsements required).
- Current certifications for dangerous goods transportation (e.g., ADR, DGSA).
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures for handling and transporting various classes of hazardous materials.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations.
- Good physical condition and the ability to manage challenging logistics.
