Logistics Dispatcher

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and efficient Logistics Dispatcher to manage the coordination of transportation schedules and vehicle movements from their Nelspruit facility. This critical role ensures that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting delivery deadlines. You will be the central point of contact for drivers, warehouse staff, and clients, requiring excellent communication and problem-solving skills to manage the flow of goods effectively, operating within a hybrid work environment that blends on-site coordination with remote planning.

• Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles for timely deliveries and pick-ups.
• Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules, addressing any deviations proactively.
• Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including delivery confirmations and driver logs.
• Communicate effective with drivers, warehouse personnel, and customer service teams regarding shipment status.
• Optimize routing and load assignments to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Respond to operational challenges and emergencies, implementing solutions to minimize disruption.

• Previous experience as a logistics dispatcher, transport coordinator, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, regulations, and delivery routes in the Nelspruit area.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with dispatch software and communication systems.
• Effective problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or supply chain is beneficial.
