Intermodal Truck Driver - Rail​/Port Logistics

Our client requires an experienced Intermodal Truck Driver to manage the movement of containers between rail yards, ports, and distribution centers in the Nelspruit area. This demanding role requires expertise in handling containerized freight, navigating complex logistics environments, and maintaining strict schedules. You will be a critical link in the supply chain, ensuring efficient and timely transfer of goods for international and domestic trade operating within Mpumalanga.

The role demands precision, safety consciousness, and a strong work ethic.

• Transport shipping containers to and from rail terminals, port facilities, and client sites.
• Operate specialized trucks and trailers (e.g., container chassis) with precision and safety.
• Ensure proper securing of containers to the chassis, adhering to weight limits and regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of container movements, inspections, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with terminal operators, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational procedures in a high-traffic environment.

• Valid driver's license (Code 14/EC1) with PrDP and container handling experience.
• Proven experience as an Intermodal Truck Driver or in a similar container logistics role.
• Familiarity with port and rail yard operations and procedures.
• Knowledge of the Nelspruit area and associated transport routes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by operational demands.
• Strong focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
