Shipping and Receiving Clerk

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage the flow of goods in and out of their facility in Benoni . This role is vital for ensuring accurate documentation, efficient handling of shipments, and maintaining organized receiving and shipping areas. You will be responsible for inspecting incoming goods, preparing outgoing shipments, and maintaining all related records.

The ideal candidate is dependable, possesses strong organizational skills, and can work effectively in a busy operational environment.

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies.
• Verify quantities and item details against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
• Arrange for pickup and delivery of shipments with various carriers.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Organize and maintain the cleanliness and safety of receiving and shipping areas.

• Previous experience as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk or in a similar logistics support role.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks.
• Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and communication.
