Operations Manager - Distribution Center

Our client is seeking an experienced and efficient Operations Manager to oversee their bustling distribution center in Nelspruit , catering to the FMCG sector . This critical role involves managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and dispatch, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety. You will lead a team of warehouse staff, implement operational best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance and reduce costs.

• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations , including inventory control, shipping, and receiving processes.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff to achieve operational targets and maintain high performance standards.
• Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, manage orders, and generate performance reports.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in warehouse or operations management , with significant exposure to the FMCG industry .
• Proven experience in managing large teams and optimizing warehouse processes.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
