Logistics Supervisor - Gauteng Distribution Hub

Our client, a prominent retail group with an extensive supply chain network, is seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee operations at their busy Benoni, Gauteng distribution hub. This key role is responsible for managing the efficient flow of goods, coordinating warehouse activities, and supervising a team of logistics personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, inventory control, and transport coordination.

You will play a critical role in ensuring timely order fulfillment, optimizing warehouse layout, and maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance. • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
• Manage and motivate a team of warehouse staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and resources.
• Coordinate with transport providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Oversee inventory management, conducting regular stock counts and ensuring accuracy.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities and prepare operational reports.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues and customer service inquiries related to logistics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a logistics or warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with logistics software.
• Knowledge of South African
  transport and logistics regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Experience working within the Gauteng region is an advantage.
