Warehouse Supervisor - Operations Excellence

Our client, a major player in the retail distribution sector, is seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their busy facility in Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily warehouse activities, from receiving and put-away to order picking and dispatch. • Supervise and direct the daily activities of warehouse staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor workflow and performance metrics, implementing measures to improve productivity and meet targets.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
• Train and onboard new warehouse operatives, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Manage inventory accuracy through effective receiving, put-away, and picking processes.
• Oversee the efficient loading and dispatch of goods, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Participate in inventory counts and cycle counting procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement timely solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives.
• Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in a warehouse setting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule, balancing on-site supervision with administrative tasks.
• Experience in the Vereeniging area is advantageous.
