Warehouse Team Lead - Picker​/Packer Focus

Our client, a fast-growing e-commerce fulfillment center, is seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Lead to supervise the picking and packing operations at their facility in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This hands-on role involves guiding a team of warehouse associates, ensuring efficient order fulfillment, maintaining high accuracy rates, and promoting a safe working environment. The Team Lead will play a critical role in meeting daily operational targets and contributing to the overall success of the warehouse.

The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a dynamic distribution setting.

• Lead and supervise a team of pickers and packers, providing guidance and support.
• Ensure all orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and efficiently according to established procedures.
• Monitor team performance and productivity, implementing strategies to meet daily targets.
• Conduct on-the-job training for new team members on picking, packing techniques, and safety protocols.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through diligent checking and reporting of discrepancies.
• Enforce all health, safety, and security regulations within the work area.
• Identify and report any operational issues or equipment malfunctions to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging teamwork and high morale.
• Assist in cycle counts and inventory checks as required.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the picking and packing stations.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse picking and packing role.
• At least 1 year of experience in a team lead or supervisory capacity is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, particularly in order fulfillment.
• Ability to read and interpret pick lists and shipping orders accurately.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift moderate weights.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
