An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced professional to join our Safeguarding Children Team at West London NHS Trust as a Named Doctor Safeguarding Children and Young People.
The post holder will with work with the Named Nurse Safeguarding Children and Young People to lead of the strategic delivery of the safeguarding children's agenda across the trust supported by the safeguarding advisers and other specialist resources within the team.
You will work within the Safeguarding Children team and part of the overall Trust Wide Safeguarding Team.
Main duties of the jobTo provide strategic leadership in delivering the safeguarding agenda to ensure that the Trust meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect children and young people.

The person specification below is not the full person specification, but outlines the criteria against which your application form will be assessed.
Person Specification Qualifications- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
- Registered on Specialist Register or within 3 months of Registration
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
- GMC Specialist Register or within six months
- Additional qualification - postgraduate degree relevant to profession or safeguarding
- Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
- Evidenced safeguarding/child protection training
- Safeguarding Level 4 training or evidence
- Wide range of specialist and subspecialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
- Excellent clinical skills in child and adolescent psychiatry
- Ability to work in and lead team
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£109,725 to £145,478 a year
Pro rata Per annum Plus London Weighting
