Cost Accountant

Robert Half are partnering with a well-established business in Southampton to recruit a Cost Accountant on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of costings while also working closely with stakeholders across the business. This position will play a key part in ensuring accurate product costing and providing meaningful insight to support business decisions.

You'll be working across both finance and operational teams, so strong communication skills are essential. Key responsibilities Management and maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOM) Analysis of margins and cost bases to identify trends and opportunities Production of regular cost reports and variance analysis Supporting budgeting and forecasting with accurate cost data Partnering with non-finance teams (e.g. operations, procurement) to improve understanding of costs Driving improvements in costing processes and reporting accuracy Previous experience in a Cost Accountant / Management Accountant role Strong understanding of product costing, BOMs, and margin analysis Confident working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to explain financial data clearly Ideally available at short notice or immediately Opportunity to move into a permanent role Exposure to a collaborative and commercially focused environment Immediate impact role within a supportive team Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
