About the RoleOur Team Leaders play a critical role in helping deliver justice by ensuring administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management. The role involves managing the efficient use of courtrooms and court staff through effective listing and control of court business, maintaining the court diary system, and controlling and coordinating the allocation of work to courtrooms.
You will set team priorities and objectives to meet performance targets, work with other court teams to ensure judicial resources are available for scheduled hearings, and collaborate with the Judiciary and Legal Advisers on case adjournments and remit cases. This is a challenging and rewarding role that is key to the smooth running of operational functions throughout HMCTS.
Responsibilities- Ensure efficient use of courtrooms and staff through proper listing and control.
- Maintain the court diary system and control allocation of work to courtrooms.
- Set team priorities and objectives to meet performance targets.
- Work with other court teams to guarantee availability of judicial resources for scheduled hearings.
- Collaborate with Judiciary and Legal Advisers for case adjournments, remits, and other listing matters.
- Develop leadership skills through the HMCTS leadership offer.
- Ability to motivate and support a team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
- Experience in an administrative role within a customer‑focussed environment.
- IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
- Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
