Job Title:

Benefice Administrator

The United Benefice of St John the Baptist, Shedfield and St Nicholas, Wickham is seeking a Benefice Administrator to support the Rector and leaders of the two parishes. The role involves key office and church functions, coordination of voluntary help and administration. This position is for approximately 15 hours per week, with potential to increase and flexible working arrangements considered.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Rector and leaders of both parishes.
  • Handle key office and church administrative functions.
  • Coordinate voluntary help and administration.
  • Listen to and provide pastoral/faith support to parishioners.
  • Help grow the discipleship and witness of the church.
Qualifications
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience in assisting or managing with administrative ability.
  • Practising Christian (required for engaging with pastoral/faith needs).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
Salary and Working Hours
  • Salary: £10,140 - £11,700 per annum (£13 - £15 per hour)
  • Hours per week: 15 hours, Monday to Friday mornings (exact days and hours to be agreed).
  • Holiday: 4 weeks per annum, pro rata plus statutory holidays.
  • Pension: Enrolment into a Workplace Pension Scheme, contribution level to be agreed, subject to a maximum of 6% of gross salary.
Other Requirements
  • Application will require a DBS check.
  • This role falls under the genuine occupational requirement under Regulation 7 of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003.
