Your new company

A respected public sector organisation operating within the environmental and land management sector is seeking a Temporary Administration Officer to join its Regulations Administration team. This organisation plays a key role in supporting the protection, improvement and sustainable management of woodland and forestry across England, working closely with landowners, stakeholders and communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a collaborative and purpose-driven team, contributing to important regulatory and grant-related programmes while developing valuable experience within a highly regulated environment.

Your new role

As a Temporary Administration Officer, you will support the delivery of regulatory and operational administration activities, ensuring processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with established procedures. You will play a key role in managing administrative casework and supporting high levels of customer service across a range of regulatory and grant-related activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing applications, approvals, amendments, case reviews and case closures.
  • Supporting the administration of regulatory processes, current grant schemes and legacy programmes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with established procedures and audit requirements.
  • Managing multiple cases and work streams while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Providing professional customer service and responding to enquiries via written and verbal communication.
  • Liaising with internal teams and specialist colleagues to support the effective delivery of services.
  • Handling and triaging public enquiries to the appropriate teams where required.
  • Supporting the delivery of organisational targets through effective administrative support.

The successful candidate will initially work full-time in the office while undertaking training before moving to a blended working arrangement.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will be a highly organised administrator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities within a busy environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within a busy administrative or operational support role.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple tasks, cases or work streams effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach.
  • Experience working within regulated, compliance-led or process-driven environments would be advantageous.
  • SharePoint experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

In addition, you will demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high-quality service, working collaboratively with others, managing workloads effectively and embracing continuous improvement.

What you'll get in return

  • Opportunity to work with a well-established public sector organisation.
  • Comprehensive training and support.
  • Hybrid working following the initial training period.
  • Valuable experience within a regulatory and operational administration environment.
  • The chance to contribute to meaningful environmental and public service initiatives.
  • A supportive and collaborative team culture.
