Paint Technician Associate

Role & Purpose

The Bodyshop Paint Technician Associate is a member of the Bodyshop/Mobile/SMART Team and will report to his Line Manager. The Associate Paint Technician is responsible for learning all aspect of Mobile & Cosmetic refinishing operations. This includes the preparation stage through to completion always achieving a high standard of repair. The role will involve working where your line Manager advises and this could be varied from site to site working with SMART mobile operations, Cosmetic Centres and or the Bodyshop and Hi Lux Treatment Centre.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the correct paint repair is performed on the damaged vehicles.
  • Ensuring the correct paint is chosen and the appropriate preparation is performed on the vehicle before it is painted.
  • Maintain the working environment and associated equipment to ensure it is of a good working order reporting any defaults to the management.
  • Follow instructions on the job card regarding the re-paint.
  • Use PPE and safety measure in the paint room (extraction fan) to minimise accidents.
  • Supervise other team members as necessary.
  • Report any problems that arise to the Work Controller and liaise with other departments where appropriate.
  • Collection and delivery of vehicles
  • Produce basic repair estimates.
  • Vehicle Appraisals
  • Liaise with customers and other Departments.
