Are you experienced in UK Export Control and looking to take the next step in a growing global business? This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation where compliance is genuinely valued and where you’ll play a key role in protecting the company against regulatory risk.

We’re partnering with an international engineering and technology manufacturer to recruit an Export Control & Trade Compliance Specialist. You’ll work closely with procurement, engineering, shipping, legal and operations teams to ensure all international trade activity is fully compliant with UK Export Control sanctions, customs and global trade regulations.

The Role
  • Manage and maintain export control compliance across the UK business.
  • Prepare, review and approve import, export and cross‑trade documentation.
  • Classify export‑controlled goods in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Submit and manage export licences (SPIRE / LITE / OGEL / SIEL).
  • Conduct due diligence checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with carriers, brokers, freight forwarders and government agencies.
  • Support Internal Compliance Program (ICP) improvements and audits.
  • Produce SOPs, DMS documentation and compliance reporting.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions where required.
  • Act as a key escalation point for potential compliance risks.
About You
  • UK Export Control experience is essential.
  • Experience with SPIRE / LITE applications and dual‑use or military classifications.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, sanctions, customs and global trade regulations.
  • Strong due diligence and documentation skills.
  • Confident working with cross‑functional teams and external agencies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to challenge where needed.
  • Experience in aerospace, defence or high‑value goods manufacturing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with D365 ERP is beneficial.
