About the Company Our client is a long-established and highly respected principal contractor headquartered in Ayrshire, delivering refurbishment, roofing, cladding, coatings and energy efficiency projects across the UK. With a heritage dating back almost a century, the business specialises in external refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit and improvement works for public and private sector clients. Operating across housing, commercial, public sector and infrastructure frameworks, they are recognised for their technical expertise, quality delivery and strong commercial performance.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of refurbishment and construction projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with Project Managers and senior commercial leadership, you will ensure robust cost control, contract compliance and accurate reporting across multiple live projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and forecasts Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and appointment Interim valuations, variations and change control management Contract administration (NEC and/or JCT) Monthly cost reporting and cashflow forecasting Identifying commercial risks and opportunities Final account preparation and agreement About You We are looking for a commercially astute and proactive professional who thrives in a contractor environment. Essential:
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline Proven experience within a main/principal contractor setting Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills Strong negotiation and communication abilities Desirable:
