Site Manager - Fit

Negotiable Salary - Freelance or Permanent

An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a multi-rise residential scheme in Southampton, valued at up to £10 million. This is a key position on a high-profile project with an emphasis on quality, safety, and programme delivery.

Role Overview

You will take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project progresses smoothly through the fit-out stages to completion. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, manage H&S standards, maintain progress against programme, and ensure all works meet strict quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities from fit-out to handover
• Lead subcontractor coordination, site logistics, and sequencing
• Uphold the highest health & safety standards and maintain site records
• Monitor progress, report to senior leadership, and drive programme timelines
• Ensure quality control throughout all phases of the residential fit-out
• Build strong working relationships with consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience in multi-rise residential construction, particularly during fit-out stages
• Strong understanding of high-quality delivery and programme management
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to resolve site issues proactively and maintain a safe working environment
• Up-to-date site certifications (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid as a minimum)
