The Quantity Surveyo
r is responsible for the management and analysis of the lifecycle costs of the project providing commercial and contract management support. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project teams to assist with cost control and monitor costs, variation management, subcontract administration, administer contracts, and support timely, on-budget project delivery.

• Assist in the administration of contracts, pricing and forecasting costs.
• Involvement in preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets and bills of quantities.
• Support the preparation and management of variations, compensation events, and change orders.
• Provide guidance to project teams on contractual obligations and commercial procedures. Tracking changes to design and or construction works and adjust budget projections accordingly.
• Production of subcontract procurement schedule. Administer subcontractor contracts, applications for payment, and variations.
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasts, and cash flow updates for work in progress and end cost forecasting.
• Support final account preparation and submission.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and client standards.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation for audits and compliance.
• Identify and escalation commercial risks to the Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor.
• Assist in procurement processes and ensure subcontract agreements comply with head contracts.

• Work closely with project teams, site managers, and finance colleagues to support commercial decision-making.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers on commercial matters as required.
• Support mentoring and development of junior commercial team members, where applicable. Monitor subcontractor performance and highlight issues to the senior commercial team.

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in engineering, construction, or utilities projects.
• Knowledge of UK contract forms; specifically, NEC

• Experience in cost control, subcontractor management, and variation administration.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Appropriate IT skills, specifically in Excel, with the ability to facilitate the use of formulas and pivot tables.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across projects and sites.
