An established and growing interior fit-out and refurbishment contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.
With a strong pipeline of projects across the commercial, workplace, retail, education, and healthcare sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional looking to develop their career within a successful and forward-thinking business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, maximising profitability, and supporting the successful delivery of high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects.
The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring costs are effectively controlled while maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.
Working closely with operational teams, you will provide commercial support across multiple projects and contribute to the continued success of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract packages.
- Produce valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Evaluate subcontractor applications and variations.
- Prepare cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Support procurement activities and supply chain management.
- Ensure contracts are administered effectively and in accordance with project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out, or refurbishment.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Experience managing project costs from inception to completion.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Experience with in commercial interiors or fit-out environments.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Working towards or already achieved MRICS status.
- Experience managing projects valued between £500k and £10m+.
