Contract:

Project Value: £25 million

We are recruiting for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established, medium-sized main contractor delivering a prestigious £25m project at one of Brighton’s leading private schools.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced and long-standing project team on a high-profile scheme combining new-build construction with significant refurbishment works too.

The Project

The £25m contract is already underway, with completion scheduled for February 2028. Works include:

  • Construction of two new four-storey student accommodation blocks.
  • Structural alterations and cut-and-carve works to existing buildings.

The successful candidate will be based on site, working alongside an established delivery team and reporting directly to an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The Role
  • Support the commercial management of the project from its current stage through to completion.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, packages, valuations and payments.
  • Monitor project costs, variations and commercial performance.
  • Assist with cost reporting, forecasting and final accounts.

  • Experience working on new-build and/or refurbishment projects.
  • Good understanding of subcontractor management, procurement and commercial reporting.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • A professional, commercially astute and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to protect the contractor's commercial interests whilst maintaining constructive relationships with subcontractors.

This role would suit an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor looking to take on greater responsibility within a supportive and experienced commercial team, working on a technically interesting and high-profile project.
