About the Role

Role

Purpose:

To oversee the day-to-day operation of the Park's Visitor Information Point & Shop (The Barn), and provide a service which is welcoming, efficient and positive. To provide administrative support, including basic financial procedures, clerical routines and housekeeping.

Key tasks:

Open the Information point & shop and secure the premises at the end of the day.
Ensure visitors are kept safe at all times, and especially during any incidents and evacuation procedures.
Front of house reception work, including welcoming visitors and explaining facilities on site.
Answering visitor enquiries both in-person and by phone or email.
Selling souvenirs and maintaining shop stock and retail displays.
Selling car parking passes, event tickets etc and processing bookings for barbeque sites, frisbee golf etc.
Operating the till and completing 'end of day' procedures and record keeping.
General cleaning and tidying of The Barn (shop, café and patio) area during the day.
Assisting with the promotion of any events, activities and exhibitions.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Recent experience in a customer service environment.
High levels of organisation skills, with a good eye for detail.
Able to communicate clearly and in an engaging way.
High level of computer skills and confidence working within an online environment.
To have a certificate in First Aid or be happy to receive training.
Minimum of 5xGCSEs grade 4/C or above, or equivalent, including English and Maths.
Able to work flexibly, including weekends and some evenings.

Desirable:

Experience of working within a visitor attraction/country park.
Interest in nature and the countryside.
Understanding of Health & Safety in relation to service provision.
Understanding of Equality & Diversity, particularly in relation to service provision.
