Carrington West are pleased to be partnered with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation across the South Coast and throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to strengthen their Southampton planning team by appointing a Senior Planner, Principal Planner or Associate Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and highly regarded planning team working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed‑use, strategic land, regeneration and infrastructure projects.
The Role- Manage a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception through to completion.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
- Provide strategic planning advice to a broad client base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
- Attend client meetings, public consultations and planning committees where required.
- Support and mentor junior planners within the team.
- Play an active role in business development and identifying new opportunities (Principal/Associate level).
- MRTPI Chartered status (or be working towards it if applying at Senior level).
- Experience with in either a consultancy or local authority planning environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Commercial awareness and a client‑focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
- Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience.
