Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in the Southampton area. This full-time position offers a fulfilling opportunity to support children and young people with autism and Asperger’s, helping them to flourish within a structured, nurturing environment. The role is available ASAP through to July 2026, with the potential to become permanent.

About the School:

The school supports students aged 4 to 12 with population of approximately 200 pupils. It prides itself on delivering high quality education. A dedicated and collaborative staff team works closely together to promote students’ independence, wellbeing, and academic development. Free on-site parking is available.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and age-appropriate EYFS lessons
Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development
Assess progress and adapt learning to meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and carers
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or EYFS equivalent
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
Experience working in an early years setting
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
