Overview
Every day is different at Dibden Park. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils to guide their learning and support both academic and personal development. You will prepare learning materials and lead classroom or small‑group activities tailored to individual needs, support pupils’ emotional, social and physical development, and assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons indoors and outdoors. In a collaborative, team‑focused environment, you’ll share your skills and knowledge with colleagues, inspire learning, help pupils overcome challenges, achieve milestones and flourish as individuals, and develop your own skills and career alongside a dedicated team.
Dibden Park School, part of Acorn Education, is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our close‑knit team and make a real difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs.
- Work closely with pupils to guide their learning, supporting both academic and personal development.
- Prepare learning materials and lead classroom or small‑group activities tailored to individual needs.
- Support pupils’ emotional, social and physical development, helping them gain confidence and independence.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, both indoors and outdoors.
- Share your skills and knowledge while learning from colleagues in a collaborative, team‑focused environment.
- Actively help pupils overcome challenges, achieve milestones and flourish as individuals.
- A caring, adaptable and proactive approach to working with pupils with diverse needs.
- Confidence working in a variety of settings, from classroom lessons to outdoor learning experiences.
- Ability to respond to individual pupil needs with patience, creativity and understanding.
- A team player who thrives in a supportive and collaborative school environment.
- Prioritise wellbeing with a 4‑Day Working Week trial; work 80 % of contractual hours for 100 % pay, subject to successful completion of probation.
- Welcome Bonus: £250 after completion of month three, and another £250 after final probation period (six months or later).
