Secondary Drama Teacher - Southampton
Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Secondary Drama Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Southampton area from 13th April, immediately after the Easter break. The school is looking for a qualified Drama specialist who can inspire students, deliver engaging lessons, and take on full teacher responsibilities, including planning, preparation, marking, assessment, and classroom management. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Drama Teacher-or a confident ECT-to join a supportive performing arts department and help students develop confidence, creativity, performance skills, and teamwork.
The successful candidate will be offered the role on a temp-perm basis.The Role: Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4 Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and engaging lessons Mark work and complete assessments following school policies Support students growth in performance, script work, devising, and character development Manage behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment Prepare students for class performances and assessments Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts department Ideal Candidate: Fully qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS Specialism in Drama or Performing Arts Confident teaching students aged 11-16 Strong classroom management and communication skills Creative approach to lesson planning and delivery Passionate about helping students develop performance skills and confidence Organised, reliable, and committed to high standards Contract Details: Position:
