About the Role

As a Careers and Progression Officer, you will play a vital role in guiding students through their academic and career pathways. You will lead the provision of high‑quality careers information, advice, and guidance across the college, empowering both young people and adult learners to make informed and confident decisions about their next steps.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading one-to-one and group careers guidance sessions to support both internal and external progression.
Developing and contributing to an innovative career’s strategy across the Trust.
Managing and reporting on internal progression processes for college students.
Conducting termly Gatsby Benchmark audits and ensuring progress toward high-quality guidance standards.
Coordinating the full UCAS process, from application planning to submission.
Providing tailored advice to new applicants during post-16 transition, enrolment, and adult learning enquiries.
Maintaining quality standards and supporting annual Matrix Accreditation reviews.

What You’ll Be Doing

Alongside your careers responsibilities, you will contribute to the wider pastoral care of students by:

Providing wellbeing support and acting as a first point of contact for student concerns.
Signposting students to relevant internal or external support services.
Assisting with attendance, behaviour, and engagement initiatives.
Supporting safeguarding processes and maintaining precise documentation.
Building strong, positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and staff.
