Prospero Teaching is looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across the Southampton area. This role involves delivering pre-planned lessons, supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, and ensuring students remain focused and engaged throughout the school day. This is a great opportunity for individuals with classroom experience, graduates considering a future in teaching, or those looking for flexible work within education.

Assignments can be full-time, part-time or day-to-day depending on your availability and preference.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive environment
• Support students with tasks, queries, and staying on task
• Work across KS3 and KS4 as needed
• Provide cover at short notice or through pre-booked arrangements
• Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently

• Experience managing a classroom or working with young people
• Confident, adaptable, and reliable
• Strong communication and behaviour‑management skills
• Positive and proactive in supporting student learning
• Graduates or aspiring teachers encouraged to apply
• Comfortable covering a range of subjects with provided work

• Experience working with young people or in education settings
• Classroom management experience preferred
• Safeguarding training (provided if needed)

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Two references covering work with children or young people
