The Role This is a key role to the success of our academy and our community. We are seeking an Alternative Provision Manager to lead and develop our on-site Alternative Provision (AP) and Learning Support Centre. As an academy, we want to meet the needs of our learners within our staff team. This is a strategic and hands-on role, focused on improving life chances for our most vulnerable learners by:
Launching and managing our AP provision. Embedding interventions alongside curriculum work to address their barriers to success Preparing students for reintegration into mainstream lessons and supporting next steps in education. Reducing exclusions and suspensions and increasing attendance. Delivering a nurturing environment and bespoke curriculum tailored to individual needs. Working closely with the Vice Principal, SENDCO, and Pastoral team to ensure high-quality provision and safeguarding.
Working Hours:
8am-4pm Term Time Only: 39 weeks per year plus an additional two weeks in Academy closure periods.
Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of AP, including attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing tracking. Deliver sessions to students to support both academic and holistic goals. Develop and implement personalised, inclusive curriculum plans. Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within AP. Liaise with external agencies (e.g., CAMHS, Educational Psychologists) to secure best outcomes. Lead on assessment, reporting, and parent engagement for students in AP.
Contribute to staff CPD and share best practice across the academy.
What Were Looking For Essential:
Level 4 qualification or equivalent. GCSEs in English and Maths (A
* C or equivalent). Experience working with young people facing significant challenges. Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to lead a team and motivate students. Desirable:
Degree or Level 5 qualification. Training in SEMH, safeguarding, or trauma-informed practice. Experience in an educational setting.
