Prospero Teaching is looking for confident and motivated Unqualified Teachers to work across secondary schools in Southampton
. This role is an excellent stepping stone for those considering teacher training or a long-term career in education. You will lead classes in the absence of the regular teacher, deliver pre-planned lessons, and ensure students remain focused and engaged throughout the school day. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth-work professionals, or anyone with strong classroom or mentoring experience.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons as the lead adult in the classroom
• Supervise and support students across KS3 and KS4
• Keep pupils engaged, on task, and following lesson objectives
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Provide cover for a variety of subjects with all resources supplied
• Support learning, answer questions, and maintain a positive learning environment
• Work flexibly across departments depending on daily needs

• Experience working with young people (school, coaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, etc.)
• Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour
• Adaptable, reliable, and able to think on your feet
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Graduates or aspiring teachers highly encouraged to apply
• Comfortable delivering work across a range of subjects

• Experience with children or young people is essential
• Classroom or behaviour management experience desirable
• Safeguarding training (available if needed)
