Level 3 Teaching Assistant for Nursery – Nursery Southampton
Start Date: March 2026
Contract: Long-term with the potential to become permanent
Salary: £14 – £16 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Location: Southampton
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a warm, forward‑thinking Nursery school within a Primary school. The Nursery provision is relatively new with 4 new classes for children aged 2-4 with new resources and experienced staff looking to increase their level 3 Nursery practitioners.
This position is ideal for someone who brings patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to their work. You’ll be joining a school that values kindness, high expectations, and a belief in every child’s potential—making this a genuinely rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities- Supporting Nursery children in their first steps in education
- Providing 1:1 or small group support where required.
- Providing learning opportunities which are child led and inspire awe and wonder
- Able to use outdoor learning environments
- Encouraging students to build independence, confidence, and resilience.
- A well-regarded and supportive school with a brand new nursery
- Experienced and supportive staff who work together well to meet the needs of all children in their care
- An exciting and engaging curriculum
- Located in Southampton
- A level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience of working in a nursery setting
- Some experience using tapestry would be an advantage
- An empathetic approach that fosters self-belief and confidence
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
