Supply Desk is seeking a caring, proactive, and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in the New Forest area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs and helping them reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Working closely with teaching staff and the SEND team, you will provide targeted support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents where appropriate.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous.
  • Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
