Teaching

  • To plan andteach well-structured, engaging lessons, following the school’s plans,curriculum and schemes of work
  • To assess,monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • To adapt teaching to strengths and needs of pupils
  • To set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • To promotegood progress and outcomes for pupils
  • To demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • To developa stimulating learning environment that will encourage and facilitatechildren’s development
  • Tosupervise the work of teaching assistants, students and volunteers
Whole-schoolorganisation, strategy and development
  • To contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s policies,practices and procedures, so as to support the school’s values and vision
  • To make apositive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • To providecover, in the unforeseen circumstance that another teacher is unable to teach
  • To contribute to whole school displays of work
  • To attendwhole school events as required
Health, safetyand discipline
  • Promote thesafety and wellbeing of pupils
  • Maintain goodorder and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure agood and safe learning environment
  • Follow theschool’s Behaviour Policy
Professional development
  • Take part inthe school’s performance management procedures
  • Attend furthertraining and development in order to improve own teaching
  • Support and upholdthe Jewish ethos of the school
Communication
  • To communicate effectively with pupils, parents and carers
  • To liaise with

    SENDCo and outside agencies when necessary
