Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Student Attendance and Engagement Officer to join our team at Great Oaks School.

This is a key role at the heart of our school community, working with students and families to overcome barriers to attendance and ensure every young person can access and benefit from education. You will build strong, trusting relationships and provide practical support and guidance to families, helping them feel confident and supported in their child's education.

You will work directly with students using creative and flexible approaches to support their re‑engagement with school, developing strategies that build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. This may include work in school, within the community, and through targeted intervention.

A central part of the role will involve using attendance data to identify early concerns, working closely with Pathway Managers and other key staff to plan and implement effective strategies that improve attendance and engagement. You will contribute to a consistent, proactive, whole‑school approach where attendance remains a clear priority.

At Great Oaks, relationships and inclusion are at the centre of everything we do. We are seeking someone who is approachable, resilient and emotionally intelligent, with a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. This is a varied, fast‑paced and highly rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Closing Date:
Thursday 2nd July @ 12pm

The Specialist Schools Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with Social Media checks.
