Your new school

Lift New Forest is a successful and friendly secondary school in the Waterside area of Hampshire. Our vision is simple – to provide an excellent education for every child, in every classroom, every day. In this school, students belong to a close-knit community, respect one another, and behave well both inside and outside the classroom. We promote the New Forest Way of being kind, determined and making good choices.

Because we are a small school, we know each child well and provide strong relationships and first‑class support that keep students safe, happy and successful.

Your new role

In addition to the responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant, a HLTA will cover lessons, support teachers in planning, lead parts of lessons and, where applicable, line‑manage other TAs. The HLTA works in partnership with teachers to improve students’ learning and attainment while promoting independence, self‑esteem and social inclusion. You will support students so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and achieve a sense of progress.

What

You’ll Need To Succeed

You should have an L5 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent, or be willing to work toward it. You should understand a range of pupils’ learning needs, show patience, calmness and empathy, and be able to engage and enthuse students. Experience working in a school or with young people in a similar supporting role is desirable.

How We Support You
  • Career development and training: access a wide range of statutory and developmental training to boost your career.
  • Generous benefits: pension plan, health care and financial support.
  • Lifestyle perks: discounted gym memberships and travel deals.
